Asian Contemporary Ensemble

After our sold out concert last year, ACE came back for yet another new program in conjunction with the NUS Arts Festival 2012. This time, we collaborated with renown storyteller Rosemarie and dancer Tang Sook Kuan alongside composers Chow Shern (Malaysia), Joshua (Philippines), Chie Tsang (Malaysia), and Diana Soh (Singapore).

Prior to our performance, we had a workshop for the musicians and young composers with mentors Professor Ho Chee Kong (Singapore) and Chong Kee Yong (Malaysia).

Chie Tsang's piece (Tong):

I had to improvise based on the dancer's movements - most interesting bit of improvisation I've ever done!

Chow Shern's piece (Fighting Oblivion):

Joshua's Piece (Dumagat Fantasy):

Diana Soh's piece (Mend My Shoes):

Update: PERM!

I did it.

The perm.

I've been thinking about it, pondering for AGES if I should get curls. Cause my hair's naturally very fine and well... flat. And since my hairstylist sent me an SMS saying I get a 50% discount on my birthday week, I figured:
it's now or never!

Getting the curls settled:

So this is the outcome:

I LIKE IT! Woohoo!

Photoshoot With James 2012

James and I headed back to KL the previous reading week and decided to do a photoshoot with Jeremy, an old friend of mine, around the Bukit Bintang area. (cause we needed some professional-looking shots for a project)

Ichiban Boshi and Tutti Frutti at Publika, Solaris Dutamas

You got that right - we had dinner at Ichiban Boshi followed by a visit to Tutti Frutti. AGAIN!

Not that I'm complaining though. ;)

I won't elaborate much since the photos are pretty self-explanatory.

Yes I know my right arm looks abominably fat in this picture don't rub it in - I'm a violinist, our arms naturally get muscles. #indenial

At OverTime:

Good stuff.
