Doggie Cards!

Received something yesterday that I squealed at the minute I saw what it was:

Wait for it... wait for it...

You may now scream.

Like seriously, how cute is this!!!

My favorites:

Close ups:

No, they are not available here. James got it for me in Aspen and passed it Kah Chun to bring it back to Singapore for me. Hahaha. Thanks dear! *hugs*

I was just telling Guan Yu now we can bridge with these cards and stare at cute dogs at the same time!!! How awesome is that???

That aside, I went to see the doc this morning (well, by the time it was my turn, it was pass lunch time *frown*) and yea... I sprained my shoulder. Doc says to stay off moving my left shoulder for 5 days at least. Gave me some muscle relaxants to help with the pain and another type of pill to help with the swelling. Should be back in action in about 4 days or so.

More updates soon!

Audition Stress

I hate it.

No matter how well prepared I am or how many bananas I eat, I'm still a nervous wreck when it comes to playing solo in front of an audience.

Attention seeker, I am not. In fact, I detest being under the spotlight immensely. I cannot possibly explain how much it torments me both mentally and physically.

My fingers freeze up, my heart starts beating faster, I break out in cold sweat, my stomach churns, my eyes lose focus, my head starts spinning...

No, I am NOT exaggerating.

This is how bad it is: I'm ALREADY breaking out in cold sweat, and my audition is not for another TWO hours!

Now WHAT, am I going to be like before I enter the audition venue, I dare not imagine. But since I've played through the repertoire a few times today, it doesn't look like I will completely screw it up. However, I'm hoping that my fingers will go on autopilot if all else fails.

Wish me luck, cause I'll need it.

In Seungri's World

Yes, I've been revisiting K-Pop again. Mainly because I'm constantly surrounded by Classical Music, so when I have a little bit of time to myself, I like to listen to everything BUT.

And since most of the new English hits are nothing short of rubbish, I revert to. . .

Big Bang Seungri's "In My World"

And "I Know", featuring IU

It's not great music, but at least it beats anything Justin Bieber/Lady Gaga come up with.

Bonus points for him cause he's funny, talks a lot, (go watch his appearances on Korean variety shows) and dances well too. LOVE HIM!

Now excuse me while I go drool.

Weird Shop Names @ Singapore

Ok, so I was Google Mapping some place a couple days back, and as I was tracing my route, this caught my eye:

Yeah, you read it right.

"Visual Orgasm Tattoo n Piercing"

How does that even make sense?? Do they specialize in erotic tattoos or something? And how can you pierce a body part to make it "visually orgasmic"? I don't reckon that's humanly possible. *rolls eyes*

Honestly, if their creativity only extends to this much whilst naming their shop, I don't think they'll be any better at their tattoo designs. LOL.

Of Book Sales and Japanese Cuisine

Yes, we went out again. *grin*

Last night was crazier because Guan Yu, Xing Lin, Claudia, Qabir and I had dinner at Alcove (next to YST), watched some funny videos on YouTube, then headed to U-Town for Starbucks and mooncake. Thanks to having caffeine so late at night, I ended up only sleeping at 5am or so. Blergh!

Anyways, this time it was with only Qabir and Guan Yu (as usual LOL), and we were at Parkway Parade to scout for books to buy from Borders. If you haven't heard, they are having a clearance sale for that particular branch before closing officially on Monday, 9pm. So if you haven't gotten the chance to rummage through the piles of books in there, I suggest you go tomorrow or there'll be nothing left. Half the stock was gone by the time we got there.

Anyways, these are the purchases I made:
Elizabeht Taylor, a biography
Sovay, byCelia Rees
Passion, by Lauren Kate
The Temptation of the Night Jasmine, by Lauren Willig
They didn't have any of the best-selling authors on the shelves, so yeah... I had wanted to get Da Vinci Code, by Dan Brown. *frown*

Nevertheless, I saved about SGD90 on all the books (I only paid a total of SGD40 for everything), Qabir saved SGD100++ and Guan Yu saved around SGD50 I think.

We then proceeded to have dinner at Ichiban Boshi:

I found the continuation of the waiting queue (on the left) very amusing:
Left: Qabir and Guan Yu
But we finally made it inside:

The menu:

My Beef Teriyaki Don:

Agedashi Tofu:

We were quite satisfied with our food, but Guan Yu and I felt like ice cream, so we headed down to Andersen's:
From left: Belgian Chocolate, Mint
Easily one of the best Belgian Chocolate I've ever tasted. Qabir couldn't help himself in the end and got one as well. The expression on his face when he was staring at the ice cream -- epic!

Walked around the streets while finishing up our ice-cream, and I FINALLY bought a new cover for my i-Phone:

Rugged stuff.

It's nights like these that make me think: it's all worth it.

Headed back to PGP soon after, Skype-ed with James for a bit, and now I really need to get some sleep.

All Grown Up

Pepper the Shih-Tzu + Cocker Spaniel.

The above picture was taken when she was a new addition to the Ng-household. She was SO tiny you could lift her with one hand!

And a few months later...

Big girl

She's as hyper as always, and it was great seeing her again after a month or so. She's getting so much heavier now it actually requires a substantial amount of strength to lift her.

I reckon her teeth are still growing so she's still biting whatever she can find lying around, but at least she's not chewing at our fingers like she used to. Still jumps at your face when you're carrying her though... Hahaha.

Came back to Singapore yesterday, after spending 4 awesome days in KL. Visited the grandma everyday to help lighten my aunt and mom's workload and give her some moral support.

It's hard, seeing her suffer like that. She talks about giving up all the time, and whatever coaxing we do only lasts a short while, then she's back to giving up again. It's hard to keep the faith when she's hurting like that...

What we can do, is hope for the best.

Sunday with the Family

It's been awesome being back home. *beams*

Went for breakfast with the family today at a DimSum place in Connaught.
"Char Siew Sou"
Egg Tart

"Char Siew Pao"
"Siew Mai"
"Foo Chuk Kuen"
Our table of yumminess
My mom and I headed to the grandma's place in PJ to visit after that. Kept her company and learnt how to shift her more effectively with some profession guidance given by my aunt's church friend and her daughter - who's a qualified nurse.

I wouldn't say she (grandma) was in the best of spirits, but she's coping. All that we can do is support and keep telling her she shouldn't give up.

We came back home to freshen up and change before meeting Wee Qin at Pavilion.

Dinner was at Tony Roma's:

Red Wine

Chicken Tenderloin Platter:

Grilled BBQ Chicken Sandwich:

Salad with Chunk of Chicken (ok that's not the official name, I forgot alright?):

Beef & Bacon Sandwich:

Chicken Pesto Linguine:

Shrimp and Salmon with Rice and Broccoli:

After dinner (and lots of laughs), we headed to TANGS cause I wanted to look for the dress I mentioned in the previous blog post to see if the price was any different, but no... they didn't have it. And just between you and me, some of the new designs and colors are too ----- old-looking.

So we ended up at Parkson's, and I tried on this dress:

It's got a pretty awesome train. The only thing that stopped me from buying it is that I was paranoid that I would trip over on stage if I wore that. Bleh.

It's ok, it's ok... Guan Yu just mentioned that she found a shop in Singapore that stocks pretty awesome dresses so I'll go check out that one before I make any hasty decisions. Wee Qin said that I should get it (the dress) early because when the time comes and you REALLY need to find one, you'll NEVER find it - and then have to settle for second best.

Urgh. Dress hunting is SO not my thing.

Eating and Shopping!

I was at Vivo again yesterday to buy macadamia nuts for the mom and Wee Qin. Guan Yu joined me there and we had dinner at Sushi Tei!

Nice view, no?

Our Table
California Maki
My Ebi Don (Fried Prawn with Egg + Rice):

Guan Yu's Curry Chicken + Rice:

We were at Tangs after that. Guan Yu picked a bathroom scale for herself and I was looking at dresses.

The one I tried out, by Daniel Yam:

What do you guys think? I really really like it, but (as Guan Yu pointed out) I might be biased cause I just LOVE the color.

Was tempted to get this other maxi dress from Island Shop as well, but it was too expensive. *sobs* It's ok, I'll wait till it goes on sale!

Ok I gotta go pack now cause I'm leaving for KL tomorrow morning. 5 hour bus ride - blergh. . . Toodles!
