Half-assed Update

Dyed my hair...

Topaz. XD

Walked into the salon, fully intended to dye my hair a shade of brown-red of some sort, but then "topaz" caught my eye, so I thought: what the heck.

And I like it. The aunt and sis think it makes me look Korean, mom and dad find that it makes my face appear paler than usual, the bro was all for the color so yea...

Anyways, here's a pic:

Me with Topaz hair. Lol
The lighting is kinda weird so I look like I just dyed the top of my head gold. -_-" Looks better in natural lighting though! *defensive*

Going to watch Pirates of the Caribbean 4 later tonight.

Can't wait!

I promise I'll make a more substantial post later today. I've got some blog-worthy thoughts swimming in my mind now but I need time to put them together in a coherent manner. =)

Till then, toodles!

Redang Trip 2011

This is going to be a long-ass post.

You have been warned. ;)

So yes, I've finally decided to blog about our epic Redang trip, and here are the pictures to unashamedly promote the gorgeous island!

Pictures credited to Wynne Fung and Lam Guan Yu unless stated. Thank you!

James in the plane with our Booze!
When the above picture was taken, I had already been in Redang for 2 hours ++. -_-" That's because the 4 of them left from Singapore and the best flight I could get from KL was 2 hours earlier than their flight. Fml.

Guanyinma's Royal Entrance
We even had our own privately chartered "sampan" from the jetty to the island:
Blonde Ray and James
Beautiful, ain't it?
Part of the resort (Redang Beach) we were staying at:
The Sand ZOMG
Enjoying a refreshing drink by the beach after our first snorkeling session:
James, Me, Blondie
We pretty much lazed around every afternoon, sun bathing, frisbee-ing, etc.

James and I
Whilst Guan Yu needed to check out political happenings via internet at the resort's internet cafe, the rest of us had a nice walk down the beach...
Wynne's Artsy Shot
Jack Bimbo and Captain Tentacles =P
Guan Yu, Wynne and I bought beach wear (sarong?) from the souvenir shop opposite the internet cafe. For once, I bought something bright-colored!

And this is Ray trying to be funny with Wynne's camera:
Our nightly companion whilst playing cards and chit-chatting at night:
Absolute Pear-ey goodness
I almost got burnt falling asleep on the hammocks. -_-" Felt a stinging sensation on my arms and woke up to find my skin all red from the heat. Jumped up and quickly ran to a shadier spot to nap LOL!
Absolute Bliss, taken from Wynne's point of view
Ray and James "having fun" by the beach as the girls napped:

Chillin' at our favorite spot:

After one of our snorkeling trips, we decided to hang around awhile more on the beach and ended up spending the entire afternoon burying Wynne and James under heaps of sand.

 Pot-bellied Mer-James:
Nice tail, eh?
Our "whale", who Ray insisted needed a gender:
Voilá, meet Dick the Whale -_-"
GuanYu, Ray, Wynne (buried under the
body that is not hers), Me.
A French couple who walked by couldn't help but notice what we were doing (many other people did as well) and even came over to help! =D

This is Guanyinma experimenting with an App on her iPhone4:

We got lucky on one of our snorkeling trips. Ray and James found a total of RM39 floating around in the sea. Hey, finders keepers. ;) We spent the money on Ramly burger that night!
Money, money, money!
Got temporary tattoos:
Guan Yu
We were at Laguna Beach Resort's souvenir shop and saw this really cute stuffed turtle with droopy eyes that both Guan Yu and I felt looked a lot like James...

And he proceeded to buy it for me. Lol. I tried to talk him out of it, but he insisted. Apparently it (who is now christened "Jamesey") is supposed to keep me company in his place when he goes off to the States for 6 months. =(
James and Jamesey
Wynne and Ray were getting massages done so they got their tattoos later on:
We also bought a disposable underwater camera for RM50!

Here are a few of the pictures:

Ray, Me, James, Wynne, Guan Yu, and a GIANT THUMB!
I look like I'm running underwater in this pic:
Guan Yu floating next to me as I attempt to jog.
All too soon, it was time to head back to KL for the next leg of our holiday, which will be blogged about separately.

Heading to our private jet plane:

It was one of the best holidays ever and I hope there will be more to come!

Check out Guan Yu's post HERE.

And check these videos out!

Updates + Restaurant Review

So the family came down to Singapore last Tuesday and stayed at Festive Hotel in Sentosa. Having finished our juries on Wednesday, Ray and I had dinner with my family then headed (via monorail) to Sentosa and Ray had fun splashing about in the pool with my brother:
Now why did that sound so gay?

Nice pool huh?
Ray having fun
"Hmm... I wonder if I can build a pool like this for my future home"
2 days ago, James had finished his juries and so we decided to head out. He brought me to this place called "Hacienda" for my birthday dinner. Again, I had no idea where we were headed until he told the cabbie where to go. -_-"

James and the voucher he got for playing in a gig:

The Menu
Very Homey Ambience
Kid's Corner!
Interior Design

The view outside
James: I'm H-U-N-G-R-Y!!
Waiting for food
Ok I hope you're not hungry whilst reading this because I get hungry just THINKING about the food we had that evening!

Our chocolate drink
It was the most sinful drink I've ever had in my life. The chocolate was SO thick they couldn't have put much water in it. And there was hundreds of tiny chocolate wafer bits to chew on!

Mushroom soup and garlic bread as appetizers
Mushroom soup smelt heavenly, but the taste was just a tad bland. Garlic bread was good! Crunchy and flavor-full.

Main course:

"L.A. Burger"
How thick can you get?
Drool-worthy fries
"Chicken Cordon Bleu"
Can you SEE the cheese spilling out of it?
Chicken was crisp on the outside, tender on the inside; mushrooms were dipped in abundance of cheese; vegetables were fresh; potatoes were boiled to perfection...

James and his err... tomato =P
Highly satisfied.
The bill actually amounted to SGD75++ but because of the voucher, I think James only had to top up SGD20++? Worth it max!

Spotted this while walking towards the bus stop:

We were so darn full after that sinful dinner, we figured we should walk a bit and take the bus as opposed to cabbing, which would make me feel really fat.

Next, we were off to Jurong Point to meet Boon Ping for a movie! Walked around for a bit cause we were really early, window shopped, mostly.

The crowd was crazy:

Some game console fair

James and Sprite
More Crazy People
My purchase from FOX!
Boon Ping arrived just 5 minutes before the movie was due to start. We watched this:
Was pretty good, actually. A little bit predictable, yes, but these movies always are. Nevertheless I appreciated the humor in it, and the effects were pretty darn awesome.

Yesterday, we went to photostat some scores and shopped around for sun glasses (for the Redang trip!). Saw (and tried on) these gorgeous Burberry shades that were on discount (after discount SGD280, original price SGD500!) so damn tempted to buy but my conscience told me not yet!

Anyways, we headed to Esplanade to watch Qin Li Wei in concert, and on the way there, bought this:
Damn Cheap ok? SGD1 only!
James' Peppermint
Concert was... ok. I didn't like the way they mic-ed the cello. Sounded WAY too reverb-ery and echoey.

That's all for now!
